Cool Environmental Ads
In a world where “green” is being slapped on everything, it is hard to find ads or products that really do stick out among the sea of supposedly environmentally friendly companies and products. It takes very creative ideas to get noticed in the crowd. Here are a few ideas that I thought were really cool, and really did stand out.
This ad was done by Bartle Bogle Hegarty in Singapore. It features Levi Jeans that are made out of 100% Organic cotton. Who knows what type of Organic they are talking about. The tag that comes with the jeans is made of 100% biodegradable paper, and it contains plant seeds inside of it. So instead of you throwing the tag in the trash you just take it outside dig a hole, bury the paper water it and watch it grow. My only hope is that these are native plant species that they are encouraging to be planted, and they don’t start selling these jeans with these tags in areas that the plant should not be growing in.
This ad was done by Prolam Y&R in Chile. It is an ad featuring Air Conditioner units on the side of a building. The tag line says, “The air that cools your home, heats up the world.” It is very creative, and doesn’t actually advertise a product that Columbia makes. It simply serves as a Public Service Announcement that shows that we are the ones that are causing our climate changes. The other reason that I like it is because Columbia is here in Portland, so I feel a close bond to them.
This ad was done by Publicis Mojo in Australia. This is one poster in a series, and it showcases dish washing detergent. What is great about the product itself is that a percentage of your purchase goes to the WWF to help out animals that are suffering because of environmental dangers. What I like most about this creative concept is that this ad was printed on pieces of paper that were recycled from offices and schools. They are old faxes, old emails, and old reports. So not only is the product helping a good cause, but the ad itself is re-using products that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
This ad was done by Daehong Communications in South Korea. It is simply a Public Service Announcement warning people of the dangers of global warming. I love how creative it is, and how visually appealing it is. The tag line reads, “We are drowning. Rescue us from global warming.”
